End Gun Violence – Upcoming Actions
On February 14, 2018, the U.S. and the world witnessed yet another mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in the state of Florida. This time, though, we are seeing how tragedy, loss, anger and frustration is galvanising students and their supporters around the U.S. like never before.
Communities around the world have watched with horror and frustration as U.S. citizens continue to suffer extreme loss and grief due to gun violence. Many nations have instituted comprehensive firearm safety already, and find it difficult to understand the political climate within the US on the issue. Many global citizens have expressed a willingness to share their stories of success and hope, and express support to the leaders for change in the US.
Women’s March Global and its affiliates including Youth Empower propose that worldwide youth-led solidarity events coordinate to not only support the change-makers within the US, but also to challenge the narrative that gun violence is a part of modern life. This will also be an opportunity for students from around the globe tell their stories of what life is like in countries where firearm legislation is restricted to some degree.

Or you can make your own #whatif video like this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLvO4nxobTc.
We are hoping that you will join us as we raise our voices, so that the voices of U.S. youth, and youth everywhere who suffer because of gun violence, are louder and stronger.
