We got down to business at the Wellington-based Women’s March Huddle which was held on Sunday 14 May at St. Andrew’s Church, 30 The Terrace Wellington 6011. Many people came along to discuss what we can do before the general election on September 23.
After our first Poneke/Wellington huddle in April we created a document that summarises some of the issue and actions points discussed during the first huddle:
Prevent erosion of current rights
Prevention of Sexual Violence
Decriminalise Abortion Law
Female representation in male-dominated sectors
We will continue to use this as a working document to help guide our next meeting and as we move forward.
If you couldn’t make it to the Huddle, please join us in a closed Facebook Group for the Wellington-based Women’s March huddle participants.
While we initially discussed using Slack as the primary tool to communicate with each other, we realised that it would be easier to defer to a closed Facebook group instead.
Please follow the link below to join the closed Facebook group.
